Circulation shapes architecture.

Through the inspiration of processional green ways that were studied in London and Berlin, the building concept was derived. Creating a building that embraces the city and landscape, as well as allows people to move freely throughout it was the main objective. By creating different unique nodes throughout the building, a desirable path unfolds and can be explored by circulating through the trickling terraces. The formal concept of the building begins with modifying the perfect cube to cater to the needs of its context. It all began with the fallowing steps; crea􀆟ng a simple courtyard condi􀆟on to promote gathering; li􀅌ing the mass to not obstruct ground circulation; terracing the mass to create different viewpoints and promote hierarchy; opening the mass to embrace natural air flow. Once this phase was completed, a programma􀆟c hierarchy was further defined. This lead to the large amphitheater that defines the overall character of the building. Bringing the community together is a main priority. This Cultural center is more than just a building, it will act as a catalyst for the future of Li􀆩le River. It will bring the community together by embracing the landscape and crea􀆟ng poten􀆟al for further dialogue with the rest of the Li􀆩le River area.
